I grew up moving around a lot from Seattle, California, Las Vegas, Kansas City. Each city had it's own flare and style. The Music, Art, and people all influenced me. Art in all it's forms was something that I feel could always travel with me. Staying connected through the art was important as life went on. Eventually I decided to try and make it in the art world. True Nature Crew came from the fact that so many of the artists I knew never even had a show, or worried that people wouldn’t be into their craft. So I, set out to share my opportunities. I started out with a small show in the crossroads of Kansas city, at a new music venue I had done a tag for. They asked if I wanted to paint and of course I was all for it; turned out pretty awesome. "Even if it was me tagging graffiti in a nightclub bathroom." LOL ! That one gig lead to my first show and from that moment on I knew great things were going to happen. The next step a bigger space meant helping more artists. Kelly’s in Westport helped with a local artists show the winter 2019. It was a great show lots of fun, tons of people came to support us and enjoy the many different crafts. I met a lot of new friends who wanted to also show their crafts and it kind of just grew from there. In 2020 with the help of 2016 Main Event Space True Nature Crew would have it's opening show during the pandemic. A collective of local artists who wanted to help their community.
Art has always been a love of mine, In every aspect of the word from visual arts to music and anything in between. The way I create my art comes from the simplest of thoughts to deepest emotions. Various moods set the tone for how I may come up with ideas each being more creative than the last. It is my goal to share my art and experiences with the world that has influenced me. Along the way I wish to share the opportunities with other local Kanas City artists. True Nature Crew is continuing it's work to strengthen the art community of Kansas City during 2021. By partnering with small local businesses, art galleries and venues to show case local art and charitable fundraisers. Special thanks to Modern Man Supply CO., 2016 Main Event Space, Kelly's in Westport, Clever Fools printing, all of our friends and family.
It's rare to find hope in a year filled with a pandemic, political tension/division, Black Lives Matter movement, Closures of small businesses, and everyone struggling to survive. Let's face it 2020 hasn't been a friend to any of us. However, as we struggle there are many who never give up faith and hope. To all of the front line workers, volunteers, the activists, and Family and Friends looking out for US.
Your dedication, sacrifice, and service. Gives us hope and heals our faith!
I really hope if you’re reading this you get the opportunity to dare to be yourself and express yourself how ever you feel! We are all living in a time where our nation, community, and loved ones need creativity; an outlet for expressions through all forms of art. A way to endure, heal, inspire, and overcome!
